DIY BRIGHTENING FACE MASK

Happy Tuesday!! I am on a bit of a high knowing that the warm weather is coming along. I had a chance to wear my flats this weekend, which was a HUGE problem as there was too much mud since all the snow is melting haha. But as muddy as my little flats got, I deep down just loved knowing that the snow is going away. I say this every winter but I just don't think I want to go through another winter. Taylor and I love the outdoors - and don't get me wrong I will always go out for some tobogganing, skating or to make a snowman, but I just don't like being cold!! Like I was saying in my post "Say Goodbye To Dry & Flakey Lips" - everything is dry!! That brings me to my F A V O U R I T E homemade face mask,
to help brighten up your skin and help to say goodbye to any blemishes!  In my past years, I have had so much trouble with trying to figure out what works for my skin. Even being an Esthetician and having all the education on how to the skin works and what it needs - mine just wasn't cooperating. Like most of you I have tried everything and anything - always following the rules that you need to do a mask and exfoliate once a week. After trying lots of different products and home made remedies, I found one that works wonders!

This mask helps with everything - evening out skin tones, brightening, blemishes, breakouts and dryness. It will help hydrate as well as exfoliate all the dead cells away. Heres what you do:

STEP 1

Crack whole egg into your bowl

STEP 2

Pour about 1/2 tablespoon of honey (I use organic honey)

STEP 3

Add 3/4 of a tablespoon of baking soda

STEP 4

Squeeze the juice of a quarter of a lemon. If you really want to brighten up your skin, I use half a lemon :) You will notice the baking soda will start to fizz up..this is good!

STEP 5

Next, mix it all up until everything is combined - make sure the baking soda isn't completely dissolved and apply a thin layer over your face. If it stings a bit thats ok, it will go away. If it doesn't take it off immediately! Mine used to sting a lot at first because my skin was so sensitive - but the more I did it the less sensitive it got. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off with luke warm water - rubbing in the remaining bits of baking soda to help exfoliate. Add your favourite moisturizer and glow baby...GLOW!

WHAT IT DOES:

Honey- The honey will help to moisturize your skin and is FULL of antioxidants  It's also an antibacterial so it's great for acne treatment and will help prevent future breakouts.

Egg- The egg yolk will moisturize and the egg white will draw out any oils (Wicked!)

Lemon Juice- My love for this vibrant fruit continues....they are PACKED with vitamin C and citric acid which will help to disinfect your skin and remove any oil that the egg draws out. It will help to leave your skin a lot tighter, cleaner and less prone to break outs! *Yay for lemons!*

Baking Soda- Because the baking soda is course but not too course, it will help to exfoliate away all those nasty dead skin cells

Let me know how it works for you!!!

Love Always,
Steph xx

  3. I like diy facial mask and now using facial mask with oatmeal, egg and apple. The recipe is very easy and effective. Ingredients: Apple, Egg Yolk, Oatmeal. Blend these 3 ingredients well. Spread the mixture all over your face. Let the mixture stay for about 20-30 minutes. Rinse it off with pure water. That's all. You can try this recipe.
